Canarie, Gran Canaria e Tenerife

Sono rientrato da qualche giorno dall’arcipelago delle Canarie, in particolare questa volta sono stato in giro per Gran Canaria e Tenerife. L’arcipelago canario, che è composto da sette isole principali e altre isolette più piccole, è la comunità spagnola più a sud del paese iberico. Si trova, nel suo punto più vicino, a circa 100 km dalle coste del basso Marocco, molto più a sud di Agadir. Le due isole sono le principali, per importanza dell’arcipelago canario e non a caso condividono i due capoluoghi della Comunità Autonoma, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria e Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Le spiagge delle isole Canarie, il clima e attrazioni naturali come le dune sabbiose di Maspalomas nel sud di Gran Canaria e il Parco Nazionale del Teide a Tenerife, sito Unesco e terzo vulcano più alto del mondo se misurato dalla base sul fondo dell’oceano, fanno di questo arcipelago e in particolare di queste due isole, un attrattore per oltre 12 milioni di turisti all’anno. Le foto che seguono sono solo un piccolo estratto del mio girovagare, anche se tante altre cose ho visto e fotografato.

It was built by the ancient Canarians over 800 years ago, making full use of the geological conditions at the volcanic cone. With the help of flint stones they opened up over 350 cavities laid out on several levels, which were used for the storage of cereals and other foodstuffs
