Lubiana, Slovenia

I spent some time during the celebrations for the New Year in Lubiana, locally spelled as Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Here eastern and western cultures met as well as  the Italian concept of art combined with the sculptural aesthetics of Central European cathedrals. The city owes its present appearance partly to Italian baroque and partly to Art Nouveau, which is the style of the numerous buildings erected immediately after the earthquake of 1895. Personally I discovered a young and lively city with a full nightlife to enjoy, specially, during this cold period, in cozy bars and local restaurants. It’s a small city, easy to walk with many food stall ideally located to grab some local delicacy and keep going. On top of that there is a small river which is a plus and a castle, up on the hill, with a railway car that eases the climb for few euro. But if you don’t want to spend money you can walk up there. I’m posting some pictures I took hoping to give a quick glance of this cute town
