Tuscan landscape in Val d’Orcia

Yesterday I spent the afternoon around the most photographed bunch of cypress trees in the world. Those ones located next to the Cassia road which connects San Quirico d’Orcia to Montalcino. We are talking about the Val d’Orcia, a territory located right outside and south of Siena, Tuscany. I was expecting, given the season, a lush green carpet around the trees. Instead I found the hills facing the cypress very green, but the land around the trees was still brown. Still, light was magnificent, as usually Tuscan light is with its delicate nuance which turns everything in a kind of painting.
