Venezia

Italy, Venice: the Clock Tower in Venice is an early renaissance building on the north side of the Piazza San Marco at the entrance to the Merceria. On a terrace at the top of the tower are two great bronze figures, hinged at the waist, which strike the hours on a bell. One is old and the other young, to show the passing of time and, although said to represent shepherds (they are wearing sheepskins) or giants (they are huge figures of great mass, necessary so that their form can be recognized at a distance) they are always known as "the Moors" because of the dark patina acquired by the bronze

Italy, Venice: The Horses of Saint Mark, also known as the Triumphal Quadriga, is a set of bronze statues of four horses, originally part of a monument depicting a quadriga. The horses were placed on the facade, on the loggia above the porch, of St Mark's Basilica after the sack of Constantinople in 1204. They remained there until looted by Napoleon in 1797 but were returned in 1815. The sculptures have been removed from the facade and placed in the interior of St. Mark's for conservation purposes, with replicas in their position on the loggia.

Italy, Venice: Drunkenness of Noah (by Anonimous). The corner reliefs of the Doges' Palace on the side facing the sea, made famous by Ruskin's beautiful description, testify to a mature development of the Gothic, already imbued with elements that will later be characteristic of early Humanism. It seems likely that the author of this moving Noah was Matteo Raverti of Bergamo.

Italy, Venice: One of the most beautiful bridges of Venice is the Ponte della Paglia (“Bridge of Straw”. This masterpiece is located behind the Palazzo Ducale close to which crosses the Rio di Palazzo. It’s a very important bridge because it links the Districts of San Marco and Castello and allows the passage from the pier on the Piazza San Marco and Riva degli Schiavoni
